What do we stand for?

The vast majority of maple syrup is produced, stored and bottled in massive quantities. (Canada even has a 60 million kg capacity strategic reserve). Lost is the rich diversity of syrups found across producers and the on-farm bottling of traditional table syrup.

We insist on highlighting the passion and craft behind making maple syrup. We source the highest quality 100% pure maple syrup, bottled directly on a single tree farm, with the individual story that makes it unique. Sourced directly from the makers.

Why does our maple syrup taste so good?

A variety of factors contribute to high quality syrup. Maple tree variety, soil, collection method, boiling method, and bottling materials all contribute. Blending across producers, common practice for high-volume brands, eliminates all the special and unique characteristics of each farm, each batch, and each season. So we bring you Provenant Single Origin Maple Syrup, with each bottle from an individual tree farm.

See below for our current farm bottles, Goubau Farm, and Hunters Maple Bush. Read more about those farms here.

Which to buy: The flavor grades

Each origin carries unique characteristics, and we provide tasting notes to guide your purchase. But there are four general flavour grades of pure maple syrup.

  • Golden, Delicate

The lightest, from early in the season. When you want some sweetness with merely a gentle flavour
  • Amber, Rich

A common choice for pancakes, with a balance between sweetness and a distinctive maple syrup richness
  • Dark, Robust

A robust profile that becomes a focal point of whatever you're consuming. Still good for pancakes, but rich enough for cooking
  • Very Dark, Strong

The end-of-season batch that is probably best reserved for cooking.
